Each
tribal drum is a hand made African drum. All of
these African tribal drums are traditional African musical instruments. The types of drums we carry are
Djembe drums,
African talking drums, Nigerian log drums and
Ghana udu drums.
Some of these
ethnic percussions are used as reggae drums.
Each African
tribal drum are put through a US workshop to make sure they are in
perfect condition before they are shipped. Professional drum builders
check all tribal drums and make any necessary adjustment. The bearing edges
are very smooth, the skins are in great condition (if not, the drum is
re-headed with a new skin), the wood is in great shape, and then every
drum is professionally tuned before shipping. The rope is changed on
every imported drum, using a high quality 2-part no-stretch polyester
rope (except for the Mali drums which come with a no-stretch European
rope). The rope is a very important part of the overall drum quality
because it insures that every drum remains in tune. The djembe drum and
the African talking drum are the most popular while the Nigerian log
drum and
udu drum
are
a little
less known but all are interesting African percussions and are fine
examples of ethnic musical instruments.
