half hull - wooden half hull

A wooden half hull model allowed shipwrights to fashion a ship prior to construction. A wooden half hull scale model ship enabled the builder to study and perfect the half hulls design before completing of the drawn plans. Once the plans were completed the wooden half hull was then often used to adorn the walls of shipyard offices. Any of these wooden half hulls make great nautical gifts. Wooden half hulls have been around since the late 1700’s.
